Privacy
Prototype policy, last updated 1 November 2026.
Your photo
- Your phone shrinks the photo to 768 px and strips location data before it is sent.
- The photo is sent once to an AI model provider for judging, held in memory, and discarded as soon as the verdict comes back. We never write it to disk or a database, and we never use it for training.
- If you choose to add your photo to a share card, the card is drawn on your device. We never see it.
- We don't do face recognition or collect biometric data. The judge is told to ignore people.
What we keep
- A random player ID stored in your browser (no account, no email).
- Your result: score, roast, creature name, the creature's colours and a short text description of the photo.
- Shared cards are public at their link until you or anyone reports them.
- Basic request logs for abuse prevention, kept for up to 30 days.
Where it runs
Hatchday runs on servers in the United States. AI judging goes through OpenRouter to the model provider (currently Google, with OpenAI as a backup) under their API terms, which don't allow training on API data.
Age
Hatchday is for people aged 17 and over. We don't knowingly collect anything from younger users.
Deleting your data
Clear this site's data in your browser to remove your player ID and dex. To remove a shared card, open it and tap “Report this card”.
