Is Hatchday a free AI virtual pet?
Yes. It's free, runs in your browser and needs no account or download. You get one photo (plus one retake) per day.
How is the pet made?
You take a photo for today's challenge. An AI judge scores it out of 100 and writes a one-line roast. Your score sets the pet's rarity, and its colours come from what you photographed, so no two pets are the same.
Does the pet grow?
Yes. Every day you come back and play, your pet gets care and grows through Hatchling → Sprout → Grown → Elder. It also lives a new short life episode each day.
Do you keep my photo?
No. Photos are shrunk in your browser, judged and thrown away. Only the score, the roast and the pet are saved.
Can I chat with it like an AI companion?
No. Hatchday is a game, not a companion. The AI judges your photo; the pet's life episodes are written stories, so they stay safe and funny.
